the doorbell just rang and my husband retrieved a lovely little African Violet left on the doorstep with the message...Happy May Day!

May Day is almost an ancient rite these days...just not a day that Hallmark picked up on...so it is all the more fun to carry on anonymously neighbor to neighbor.... *smile* Thank you neighbor for brightening my day.

What I remember of May Day as a child was the torture of practicing for the May Day pole--how inept we were until the day we had to perform in front of parents!
