I do love adobe structures though I have never lived in one. This picture is from Holy Trinity Monastery--and it is the door into the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A beautiful still chapel with wonderful light. My only disappointment was I was hoping to find a kneeler....and there was not one to be knelt upon--anywhere in my trip in fact! I did light a candle for a few friends and loved ones and later spent time outside wandering the cemetery. I have always felt drawn to cemeteries--especially older ones--and not in a morbid way...very sacred places and I have wandered them since I was quite young.
bits and pieces of collage, books, journaling, knitting notes and other general life ramblings...

in my mind--I'm still on vacation

the adventure continues II
I didn't get to finish my quick narration of our two day trip.
From Bisbee we continued on to Tombstone (yes, you read that correctly) and wandered a bit reading placards and avoiding the realistically dressed cowboys trying to get you on a stage coach or otherwise involved in.....something silly or costly.
We left Tombstone and traveled up to Holy Trinity Monastery in St. David's where they grow some awesome pecans and bake some amazing bread...and have a very large Benedictine cross, a meditation garden/pond, a wonderful chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe and much more...I would return for a retreat any day!
From St. David's we came home to our friends place Tucson and their two cats Blue & Red were very pleased to see us.
There was so many different colors, and variety of cacti, mountains shapes and colors of soil....and always no matter which way we were facing we were surrounded by mountains. Breathe deep and savor it! I did I still am taking it in. Give thanks! I am, I do, I will.

the adventure continues
Ahhh, the quiet morning air and the mountains.
We took a road trip that took us in a long loop, through mountain passes and into and out of some of the most interesting terrain. It is just killing me that I can't post some pictures yet...
Have you been to the Chirachahua's? How about Bisbee? It you are ever in Bisbee you MUST eat at the Breakfast Club and have coffee at The Bisbee Coffee Company.
